The Department of Crop Sciences offers a statewide Off-Campus Graduate Studies (OCGS) Program to provide agricultural professionals with access to University of Illinois crop and soil science courses. These courses offer not only an opportunity to increase knowledge and skill levels in a wide variety of agronomic topics, but also a chance to interact with other leaders in the industry.
Courses may be taken individually for personal or professional development. However, students who take three courses may qualify for a Professional Development Certificate, and students who apply and are accepted into the Graduate College may be eligible for a Master's degree in Crop Sciences. All classes are approved for Continuing Education Credits for those individuals who are Certified Crop Advisers, and some courses are approved for biological science credit for high school teachers.
Classes are offered during one weekday evening per week, and occasionally on weekends, at various statewide locations. Current course sites include Joliet, Malta, Kewanee, Springfield, Vandalia, and Champaign.
