The Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers

The Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers is the largest of 37 state chapters in the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. The Illinois Society was founded in 1928 and presently has a membership of 450 throughout the state. It is estimated that Illinois Society members manage approximately 3.7 million acres of farmland in Illinois, which is equivalent to 15% of the farmland in the state. Members have appraised over 750,000 acres that had a combined value of approximately $1 billion.

General objectives and purposes of the Society are to promote improved management and appraisal of agricultural land and agricultural consulting; provide for the exchange of ideas and the improvement of the profession of farm management and rural appraisal; and build and maintain a code of business and professional ethics designed to protect owners and other clients and to promote sound business practices.
